Implement online capabilities demanded by advertising clients

Project Goals

Transition HanleyWood’s 30+ magazine websites from a proprietary CMS to the new Tridion Content Management System platform with a development schedule of two-week sprints and monthly releases. Also, integrate Tridion with third party products like Bright Cove.

Approach

We created a hybrid development team, placing some resources at the client site and closely collaborating with a group of dedicated resources in the Loginsoft Hyderabad, India office. Loginsoft’s experienced and well – networked recruiters were able to quickly locate trained Tridion developers. The newly formed team worked closely with the client’s product teams, participating in product planning meetings, daily Scrums, release planning meetings, backlog development sessions, and other relevant activities. Loginsoft followed the agile delivery model implemented by HanleyWood, but augmented it with its proven model of producing around the clock by taking advantage of the difference in time zones (requirements and testing by day, development overnight.) Oversight was constantly provided by senior developers, liaison and project managers, and other senior members of the Hyderabad and Chantilly offices. The current set of requirements were broken down into stories or product backlog items and incremental weekly/fortnightly releases allowed in establishing an easy feedback loop with the customer and provided effective validation of the requirements all through the project. Email, WebEx and Telephone were used for collaboration and project management was done using agile planning principles. C# 3.5/4.0, 4.5, ASP.NET, MVC 4.0. JavaScript, VBScript, JQuery and AJAX.
